Drawing scale is written as 'drawing : actual'. A 1:50 scale means 1 mm on the page is 50 mm on the part. A 1:1 scale (full size) is rare for gate work because a 2 m gate doesn't fit on an A4 sheet.
For an A4 page, a 2 m gate front elevation fits comfortably at 1:20 (gate is 100 mm on the page). A close-up detail of a hinge mount might be drawn at 1:5 or 2:1 (twice life size) on the same sheet. Each view carries its own scale call-out.
CAD60's drawing pack auto-selects scale to fit the gate to the A4 sheet. The scale is recorded in the title block. Re-print the same drawing on A3 and the scale call-out updates to match the new sheet size.
