Slatted gate

A gate filled with wide solid slats arranged tight or with a minimal gap, blocking sight lines for a privacy finish.

A slatted gate uses wide flat infill members, typically aluminium extrusions 65 to 150 mm across, packed tightly enough to break the sight line through the gate. Slats can run horizontal for the modern Hamptons-style look or vertical for something more traditional. The frame is usually galvanised RHS for strength and corrosion resistance.

Slatted gates are heavier than battened gates because the infill area is solid. On a sliding gate over 4 m the extra wind load matters and the bottom rail goes up a size to suit. Hinge sets on slatted swing gates above 1.2 m wide are typically rated 350 kg per pair or more.

CAD60's slatted models recompute slat layout, gap, and overhang from your inputs so the drawing pack reflects every change in real time.
